Esteemed Actor The actor Pat Finn, Known For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.
Stateside performer Finn, who appeared in popular TV shows like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died aged 60.
The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles recently after undergoing treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per news outlets.
"He never met a stranger - only friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives shared in a statement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable Television Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a party host famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous well-known programs, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.
His work in movies include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Away from his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was part of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.
"He guided, supported, and advised many learners throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he posted publicly.
Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
