The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that Mohamed Salah apologised to the group of players following the uproar from his public comments.

What Happened

Salah was left out from a vital match following making accusations and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”

Arne Slot has chosen not to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the player.

Moving Forward

He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” he continued.

The midfielder also noted that a competitor wanting to play is preferable. “I get that there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”

Team Form

Their results have remained strong in the matches since the initial controversy. He feels the forward's comments were never meant to harm the team.

“In moments of frustration, it has consistently come from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and starting to win games.”
