Performer Rejects Anti-Vaxxer Position Following Narrating Contentious Pandemic Film

The acclaimed actor has provided his narration to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the efficacy of immunizations and lauds ex- government figure Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Film's Provocative Foundation

Called "Plague of Corruption," the film is adapted from a well-known publication co-authored by a controversial scientist, who gained notoriety during the pandemic for allegations that Covid was a result of a faulty batch of the flu vaccine.

The book's writing partner, a producer, has penned books with far-right radio host Alex Jones. He recently posted praising Neeson's participation in the project.

A Strong Statement

A spokesperson for Liam Neeson have released a statement strongly denying claims that he holds anti-vaccine beliefs.

"Many acknowledge that misconduct might be present within the medical sector, but that must not be conflated with opposition to vaccines," the response explains. "Liam never has been, and remains not, anti-vaccination. His extensive work with the UN children's agency reinforces his enduring support for global immunisation initiatives."

It noted that the star had no hand in the project's messaging and that concerns about its content are best addressed to the producers.

Central Claims In the Documentary

According to the documentary, the voiceover provided by Neeson makes several provocative claims:

  • It claims that pro-immunization voices have insisted on "blind obedience" to public institutions.
  • It posits that "science has become highly influenced by politics."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is interviewed claiming, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they are not safely tested."
  • The film takes aim at stay-at-home orders, claiming they caused psychological harm that cost thousands of lives.
  • Regarding Covid vaccines, it references a view that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "dangerous experiments."

Previous Context and Ongoing Disputes

The documentary further cites a historical film about AIDS medication trials on children, which was afterwards the focus of a formal apology by the broadcaster for editorial breaches.

Last month, Kennedy instructed the national health agency to alter its official position that there is no link between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is echoed in the film, even with a recent study from the WHO confirming no connection has been found.

A Past Statement of Endorsement

Contrasting the film's tone, Neeson has formerly expressed clear advocacy for vaccines in his capacity as a charity ambassador.

In 2022, he called vaccines as "an incredible achievement," adding that "The discourse about vaccines in lately has forgotten how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in our history."

"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's script stating, "This isn't the conclusion of our journey. This is the dawn of a different phase."
